For any edited files you wish to backup, select the files then “share -> export as-> select DNG and hit the check mark at the top right of the screen. This will create a backup of the original files.ħ. Select the Backup-originals folder and save. Look for 2 folders on the disk - Lightroom Backup-Originals and Lightroom Backup-Edited DNG.Ħ. Remove the card reader (no need to eject) and connect the Samsung disk.ĥ. On the other hand, it is recommended to pause sync’ing if traveling (see earlier posts).Ĥ. If enabled, the images will be uploaded to the Adobe cloud. Connect card reader to the other usb-c port and import the images to Lightroomģ. GPS4CAM CLOUD EXPORT UPDATE
This update is more of a confirmation of the earlier posts below. Of course, this is all quite fast and efficient, independent of internet bandwidth. Just plug in the external disk, tranfer the images to a folder on the desktop, then import to LR. With this folder structure, there’s no need to upload to the cloud to get the images on LR desktop. This is not ideal but does solve the problem. When importing to LR desktop, keep this folder structure intact so that, from within LR desktop you can easily identify the selected dng’s and rate them from within the desktop app. So, my solution is to, as before, create two folders on the external disk - 1 for originals and 1 for edited selects. So, if you go through all the images, flag the “keepers” and rate the best images, none of this will survive the export process. While exporting to external storage as DNG’s works fine, including exporting with all the edits from LR Mobile, what is not included is any flags or ratings of the images. If the Creative Cloud thing wasn’t enough of an issue, I just discovered on more problem in trying to avoid uploading.
